Privacy Policy
Noabill Beauty Ltd is the data controller responsible for personal information collected through thecuriousedit.co.uk, which operates under the brand The Curious Edit.
This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse our website, buy a digital guide, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
Contact information: your name, email address and information you provide through forms or correspondence.
Purchase information: your billing address, purchased products, order number, transaction amount, payment status and payment references.
Consent records: your newsletter preferences, cookie choices and consent to immediate digital delivery.
Technical and usage information: your IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, referral information and interactions with our website, subject to your cookie choices where applicable.
Payments are processed through Squarespace Payments or PayPal. We do not receive or store your full payment card number or card security code.
We receive information directly from you, through your use of our website and from providers that help process payments and fulfil orders.
2. How and why we use information
Purchases and digital delivery
We use your contact, order and payment information to process purchases, send confirmations, provide download links and resolve purchase-related problems.
Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Enquiries and customer support
We use information you provide to answer questions and requests.
Our lawful basis is taking steps towards a contract where your enquiry concerns a possible purchase, or our legitimate interest in responding to other enquiries and supporting customers.
Accounting and legal obligations
We keep records needed for tax, accounting and other legal requirements.
Our lawful basis is compliance with legal obligations.
Security and disputes
We use relevant information to protect the website, prevent fraud, investigate misuse, keep consent records and establish or defend legal claims.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our business, customers and legal rights, or compliance with a legal obligation where applicable.
Newsletters and offers
If you subscribe, we use your email address and preferences to send newsletters, guide announcements, news and offers through Mailchimp.
Our lawful basis is your consent. Purchasing a guide does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics and Squarespace Analytics to understand website usage and improve our content and services.
For optional analytics cookies and associated personal information, we rely on your consent. You may refuse optional analytics cookies without preventing a purchase.
Please read our separate Cookie Policy for further information.
3. Information required to purchase
We need your email address and the billing and payment information required at checkout to process your purchase and deliver your guide.
If you do not provide required information, we may be unable to complete your order.
Newsletter signup and consent to optional cookies are not conditions of purchasing a guide.
4. Marketing choices
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our marketing emails or by contacting admin@thecuriousedit.co.uk.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
We may retain a minimal suppression record to ensure we respect your request not to receive marketing.
Unsubscribing does not stop necessary purchase-related emails, such as order confirmations, download links or responses to support requests.
5. Providers and sharing
We use the following services to operate The Curious Edit:

We may export relevant records into Excel for accounting, order administration or managing subscriber records. Exported copies remain subject to the purposes, retention rules and rights described in this policy. An export does not give us permission to send marketing to someone who has not subscribed.
Using Excel does not necessarily mean that information is shared with Microsoft. This depends on whether files are stored locally or through a connected cloud service.
We may also share information with accountants, legal advisers and other professional advisers where necessary, or with authorities where legally required.
Some providers process information on our instructions. Others, including payment providers, may also act as independent controllers for their own legal, security and service-related purposes.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Some providers process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate.
Where UK international-transfer rules apply, the relevant safeguards may include:
UK adequacy regulations, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient and transfer qualify.
Approved contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Additional protections where required.
The mechanism depends on the provider, receiving organisation and transfer concerned. You can contact admin@thecuriousedit.co.uk for information about the safeguards applicable to your information and how to obtain a copy.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for its purpose, taking account of legal requirements.
Order, transaction and accounting records: generally six years from the end of the company financial year to which they relate, or longer where legally required.
Customer enquiries and support correspondence: for the time needed to resolve the matter and an appropriate period afterwards, considering related purchases, complaints and potential legal claims.
Newsletter information: until you unsubscribe or we determine that it is no longer needed. Limited consent and suppression records may be retained afterwards.
Technical and security records: for a period proportionate to their operational and security purpose.
Analytics information: according to the retention settings of the relevant analytics service.
Excel exports: according to the retention period for the information they contain. We remove working copies when no longer needed.
Cookies: according to the relevant cookie’s duration, described in our Cookie Policy.
We may retain relevant information longer where necessary to comply with law or resolve an ongoing dispute.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including exported records, against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have rights to:
Access your personal information.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Request deletion.
Restrict how information is used.
Receive certain information in a portable format.
Withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
Your right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. You have an absolute right to object to processing for direct marketing.
Rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
To make a request, email admin@thecuriousedit.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions.
10. Complaints
Please contact admin@thecuriousedit.co.uk if you have concerns about how we handle your information.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator:

Where required, we will notify you of material changes or obtain fresh consent.
